The Best Mother's Day Ever

I had such a great Mother's Day today....or, now, it's yesterday!! Actually, my Mother's Day began Saturday when my sweet daughter, Julia and her fiance, Trey, took me out to lunch at one of my favorite places......La Madeleine's. We chose to eat at the restaurant located at the Galleria in Dallas. My girls and I have a long history of eating at this particular La Madeleine's which began way back when my mother was living. My mom, my girls, and myself would spend a couple of hours eating, talking, and laughing............and laughing. some more at this restaurant. My precious mother has been in Heaven for nine years now, but I still think of her every time I eat at this La Madeleines.

Then, Julia and Trey gave me a beautiful vase of fresh flowers!!
Then, all my children and husband, Tim, gave me a dozen red roses!!
THEN, today, my beloved daughter, Lindsay, took me to Lone Star Park! I haven't had so much fun in I can't remember how long!! I had never been to the horse races. I must have had beginner's luck because I left with more money than I started with!! But, the time I'll always remember is getting to spend about six to seven hours alone with my Lindsay Girl laughing and cheering the horses on...........and hugging like a couple of crazy girls when we won!!! Girls Just Want To Have Fun, you know!!!!!!!!
My daughter, Alison, (www.myspace.com/tellanova) called me to wish me a Happy Mother's Day! Ali is a graduate of Berklee College of Music...........She's awesome!
My oldest son, Michael, also called me.............. He's a sweetheart and a mother's delight!
After Lindsay brought me home, my family gave me a new digital camera that I desperately needed as I can't seem to keep up with one for more than a year or two!!
My red haired Heather called me from Chicago. We talked for a long time. I'm off to Chicago to visit her in a couple of weeks. Three days of one-on-one time!! I can hardly wait!

After that, my always smiling Abigail Joy and my baby girl, Ivy Sue, bought organic pizza, organic cookies, and organic ice cream for our special dinner in front of the television while we watched the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2!!! (We are all eating organic now after watching the documentary, Food Inc.) The girls even went to the Sonic and bought watermelon, cherry, and limeade slushes.....put them in blue, orange, and green plastic margarita glasses; added a cherry and lime wedge to each, and served them with a colored straw. How magnificent is that???????
Tomorrow, Michael is going to take me out to lunch!
Finally,........I suppose Mother's Day will come to a close. How many mothers are blessed to have a four day Mother's Day celebration?????????? Answer: mothers like me who have the greatest, most considerate, kindest, children in the world......that's who. Also.......a husband who's pretty grand, too!
